  • lingering signs of fall...

I found these on my camera. Someone (Gabe) likes fall just as much as I do! As I look out my window to this very spot today, I notice that in just the few days ago he must have taken these it already shows a differing view.

So I paint the front door yellow before the rain catches up with me in an attempt to work on some 'curb appeal'. Gabe likes when I surprise him with treats like this (or more when he comes home and things are done and he doesn't have to lift a finger or paint brush in this case!).

It's true. I'm nesting in some weird form or another! But hey, things are getting DONE!

    Side garage door.

Beautiful healthy babes! Who as Gabe so rightly put last night in the midst of a 'tude or two, 'desperately need an encounter with Jesus!' Oh, but man are they priceless!

I have this quote pinned up on the fridge. I read it often because it's right where I'm at and I know I need the reminder and encouragement more times than not that I am not in this alone. Even to the extent that I was made for this. I can still be stretched to what I think is the max for me, and His grace is there still to find me and replenish me and use me to do and carry out that much more!

"The average woman, if she gives her full time to her home, her husband, her children...will be engaged in a life work that will demand every ounce of her strength, every bit of her patience, every talent God has given her, the utmost sacrifice of her love. It will demand everything she has and more. And she will find that for which she was created. She will know that she is carrying out the will of God. She will be a partner with the Sovereign Ruler of the universe."

~Catherine Marshall quoting her father, Peter Marshall

Sovereign Ruler of the universe? Yeah, I'll take working with someone with those credentials any day of the week!

  • Love the beauty captured. AND the front door! AND the quote. :)

  • I love the front door color. I have been hankering to paint ours some shade of yellow but, alas, since I have no screen door the thought of no door has kept me from it. I wonder if I can squeeze it in before the weather turns later this week. You have inspired me.

    ps. Your children are ADORABLE.
